Article 8
[Freedom of assembly]
(1) All Germans have the right to assemble peacefully and unarmed, without prior declaration or authorization.
(2) In the case of open-air meetings, this right may be restricted by law or on the basis of a law.
Article 9
[Freedom of association]
(1) All Germans have the right to form associations or societies.
(2) Associations whose aims or activities are contrary to criminal law, or which are directed against the constitutional order or the idea of understanding between peoples, are prohibited.
(3) The right to form associations for the protection and improvement of working and economic conditions is guaranteed to all and in all professions. Agreements which restrict or tend to restrict this right are null and void and measures taken to this end are illegal. Measures taken pursuant to articles 12 a, 35, paragraphs 2 and 3, 87 a, paragraph 4, and 91, must not be directed against labor disputes initiated by associations within the meaning of the first sentence (of this paragraph) for the safeguard and improvement of working and economic conditions.
