– Article 36.

Citizens of Ukraine shall have the right to freedom of association in political parties and civic organisations for the purpose of exercising and protecting their rights and satisfying their political, economic, social, cultural and other interests, subject to the restrictions provided for by law in the interests of national security and public order, the protection of public health or the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.

Citizens have the right to join trade unions to protect their labour and socio-economic rights and interests. Restrictions on trade union membership shall be established exclusively by this Constitution and the laws of Ukraine.
No one may be forced to join an association or have their rights restricted because of their membership or non-membership of political parties or civic associations.
