Article 67. All citizens have the right to associate for political purposes, by means of democratic methods of organisation, operation and leadership. Their governing bodies and candidates for elected office shall be selected through internal elections with the participation of their members.

The financing of associations for political purposes by State funds will not be permitted.
The law will regulate the financing and private contributions of organisations of a political nature, and the control mechanisms that carefully ensure their origins and their manipulations. It will also regulate political and electoral campaigns, their duration and spending ceilings with a view to democratisation.
Citizens, on their own initiative, and associations of a political nature have the right to have recourse to the electoral process to nominate candidates. The financing of political propaganda and election campaigns will be regulated by law. The management of political associations will not be able to enter into contracts with the public sector.

 

Article 68. Citizens have the right to demonstrate, peacefully and unarmed, under no conditions other than those laid down by law.
The use of firearms and toxic substances to control peaceful demonstrations is prohibited. The law will regulate the participation of the police and security forces in the dual control of public order.
